Texas Football picked the Mount Pleasant Tigers to finish third in District 8-5A Div. II behind Texas High and Marshall but ahead of Nacogdoches, Pine Tree, Hallsville and Whitehouse. The Pewitt Brahmas were picked to finish third in District 10-3A Division II behind DeKalb and Hooks but ahead of New Boston, Chisum, Redwater and Prairiland. The Rivercrest Rebels were picked to finish fourth in District 9-2A Division I behind Cooper, Wolfe City and Quinlan Boles but ahead of Honey Grove, Alba-Golden and Como-Pickton.
