CEDAR HILL — Back in 2006, Southlake Carroll vs. Cedar Hill would have been one of the best matchups in state history. Carroll won its third consecutive state title that year as MaxPreps national player of the year Riley Dodge beat future Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles of Austin Westlake in a scintillating quarterback duel in the Class 5A Division I state title game. That victory was part of a 49-game winning streak and concluded a five-year stretch in which Carroll was 79-1 under legendary coach Todd Dodge.
