CEDAR HILL, Texas — The extremity of Texas' heat has been a public nuisance. In worst-case scenarios, people have either become ill or died because of the dangerous hot weather. This week, a heat-related death was averted, thanks to a Cedar Hill ISD officer. Cedar Hill ISD Detective Eric Roberts came to the aid of a 1-year-old, who accidentally locked himself in a rental car. The outside temperature was 103 degrees, so inside the vehicle it was much worse. For almost 32 years, Roberts has been dedicated to law enforcement.
